JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Filipina bersikap realitistis dengan tidak akan bermimpi lolos ke semifinal setelah menelan kekalahan kedua, 1-2 (1-1), dari Timor Leste pada lanjutan penyisihan Grup B cabang sepak bola SEA Games di Stadion Lebak Bulus, Jakarta, Senin (7/11/2011).
Pelatih Filipina Hans Michael Weiss menyebutkan, pihaknya akan memaksimalkan tiga laga berikutnya untuk mematangkan tim yang bisa disiapkan tampil di SEA Games 2013 Myanmar.
"Tim kami berisi pemain-pemain yang sangat muda dan mereka masih bisa dimainkan di SEA Games 2013. Kami berharap , semoga saya bisa tetap bersama tim ini pada ajang itu," kata Weiss kepada wartawan. "Kami harus realistis, setelah kalah untuk kedua kalinya, kami tidak terlalu memikirkan masih bisa lolos atau tidak," lanjutnya.
Kekalahan 1-2 dari Timor Leste itu merupakan kekalahan kedua Filipina setelah, pada laga perdana, mereka kalah 1-3 dari Vietnam. Mereka sempat menyamakan 1-1 melaw an Timor Leste, tetapi di awal babak kedua mereka lengah sehingga kemasukan gol.
Weiss tidak lupa meminta maaf pada suporter Filipina, baik yang datang langsung di stadion untuk memberi semangat maupun suporter di negeri mereka, atas kekalahan kedua itu.
"Ekspektasi di Filipina sangat tinggi setelah kami lolos ke semifinal Piala AFF 2010. Maaf sekali, ini mungkin sedikit kemunduran, tetapi tim Filipina menyimpan banyak potensi," paparnya.
Di ajang Piala AFF 2010, Filipina secara mengejutkan melaju hingga semifinal sebelum dihentikan Indonesia pada dua laga kandang-tandang yang keduanya digelar di Jakarta akibat keterbatasan infrastruktur stadion di Filipina saat itu. Weiss menyebut, minimnya infrastruktur stadion dan tiadanya kompetisi sepak bola jadi penghambat untuk mengembangkan talenta lokal.
Ia mengritik pemainnya yang cenderung bermain dengan bola-bola atas saat menghadapi Timor Leste. Sebelum laga, kami sudah mewanti-wanti agar menghindari bola-bola tinggi. Postur pemain Timor Leste lebih tinggi dan punya fisik kuat, meski secara teknik mereka tidak terlalu bagus, ujar Weiss.
"Kami merasa kurang pada posisi bek tengah dan striker. Kami juga tidak terlalu menekan lawan pada lini tengah. Tetapi, dengan banyak bertanding, hal itu akan memberi banyak pengalaman bagi pemain-pemain muda kami," ujarnya. Untuk laga berikutnya, Filipina baru akan berlaga lagi, Jumat depan, melawan Laos.

Jackman plays to his roguish strengths, Evangeline Lilly (Lost) gets the perfunctory love interest role, and the villains are uncomplicatedly hissable, from Jackman's good ol' boy rival (Kevin Durand) to the heavily accented owners (Olga Fonda, Karl Yune) of the most fearsome of robots, the undefeated Zeus.
